Oldfield Dominates Aussie Late Model Opener at Ellenbrook

Beechboro, Western Australia | Oct. 15, 2011 - The Western Australia Late Model season roared back into life Saturday evening October 15 at Ellenbrook Speedway for the prestigious Ray Tulk Memorial that doubled as Round 1 of the R2C Competition Filters Pro Dirt Series....
Ray Tulk was one of speedways strongest, most loyal, supporters. He was one of the founders of Late Model Racing Australia and helped get the division off the ground. Ray was also a well respected Life Member of Ellenbrook Speedway (Racing Drivers Association). He was an extremely helpful and honest individual, and well known for his technical ability, serving as a committed technical director for the RDA, as well as numerous other clubs including the Late Models.

A stellar field of 20 immaculately presented Late Models turned up to battle for honours on a track that always provides exciting racing.

The largest crowd of the season for Ellenbrook was on hand to witness a breath taking display of high speed action from the moment the thundering V8 Late Models hit the track.
Jamie Oldfield #51 was clearly the stand out driver for this event, being in dominating form from start to finish. On his home track, Jamie easily won his two Heats, broke the 10 lap track record, created a new 6 lap record, won the top 6 (A) Dash, and lead all 30 laps of the Feature race.
