Mills Masters VSDA Aussie Midget Opener at Avalon

Lara, Victoria, AU | Oct. 8, 2011 -  The V.S.D.A season kicked off last Saturday night at Avalon Raceway with round 1 of the Lucas Oil Products Southern Speedcar Tour.  Mills and Truscott shared the front for the main event with the laps being reduced due to the threatening rain. Mills would take the lead going into turn one with Pearce following him through into second as they exited turn two, the yellows would come out before a lap was completed with Truscott nosed into the wall after contact with Palmer...

Bakersfield, CA | Oct. 8, 2011 - It may not get the press coverage of Larson's feat at the Four Crown Nationals at Eldora, but when you beat 67 other racers in two divisions on one night... you've done something SPECIAL! #15B Brad Pounds wired the field from the front row at Bakersfield Speedway's 1/3mi for the victory in the IMCA Modified feature but had to be perfect with the #2 of Bobby Hogge IV and the #222 Gary Dutton right on Brad's rear bumper waiting for him to make a mistake. Then Pounds jumped in the #1P for the Late Model A-Main which took three tries to get started...

Bernal Blasts Keading with Last lap Pass for USAC Sprint Win at Tulare - VanderWeerd Takes Title

Tulare, CA | Oct 8, 2011 - Ryan Bernal of Hollister, Calif. scored a spectacular last-lap victory in Saturday night’s 30-lap USAC West Coast 360 Sprint race at the Gropetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway. Bernal’s win was his fifth in the last seven series races. Richard VanderWeerd of Visalia, Calif. finished fifth to secure his inaugural USAC driving championship by 39 points over Bernal, who was also the fastest qualifier. Dennis Howell paced the first three laps, then Troy Rutherford led the next 25. Bud Kaeding moved to the front on the white-flap lap, but yielded to Bernal on the final lap. Kaeding finished second ahead of Rutherford, Danny Sheridan and VanderWeerd.
