David Gravel Charges through WoO Field in World Finals Feature ~ Drives from 24th to 6th!!

WATERTOWN, Conn. | Nov. 13, 2013 - Starting in the 24th position in the 30-lap finale of the World Finals for the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series on Saturday, Nov. 9, at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, David Gravel had his work cut out for him. He masterfully used all 30 laps to slice his way through the field, finishing sixth, earning the KSE Racing Products Hard Charger Award aboard his familiar No. 89 FMR Racing/JRC Transportation/Musco Fuel/Model Craft J&J with a Kistler Mopar under the hood.

“I just kind of put my head down in the feature and the car really came alive and we were able to make up a ton of ground,” said Gravel. “We had a disappointing night on Friday, so to come from the back to the front on Saturday and get the Hard Charger Award was the perfect way to wrap up the weekend and the season. We passed a lot of good cars on Saturday night and I am pretty proud of that.”

For his efforts with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series in 2013, Gravel earned the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award, adding his name to an impressive list of past recipients. Gravel was victorious twice this season with the series, first at I-94 Speedway in Minnesota, and then on the first preliminary night of the Knoxville Nationals at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Iowa. He wrapped up World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series campaign with 26 top-10 finishes, with seven of those being top-five showings. Gravel also stopped the clock first in time trials on two occasions.

Watt Claims First Pro Dirt Late Model Victory at Kalgoorlie!

Kalgoorlie, Western Australia | Nov. 13, 2013 - Lee Watt claimed the biggest win of his career last Saturday night at Kalgoorlie Speedway, racing away to claim the feature event in round four of the Hoosier Tires Late Model Pro Dirt Series.

Watt was the one to watch all night, recording very quick times in his heats where he claimed a third and a second, before starting from position two in the feature and driving away from his closest rivals Craig Vosbergen in second and Warren Oldfield in third.

Tracy Hines Looking for Double Duty in Western World Championships at Canyon Speedway Park

NEW CASTLE, Ind. | Nov. 13, 2013— The Western World Championships have been around for over 40 years, and while sprint cars have always been the mainstay on the bill for the event, what type of sprinters has varied over the years. This year, it will be non-wing 360s, paired with midgets. Tracy Hines is a past winner of the historic event and looks to continue to add to his success at Canyon Speedway Park, in Peoria, Ariz., during the event this week.

West Coast Late Model Shootout Championship Battle to be Decided at Cocopah Speedway

Santa Maria, CA | Nov. 13, 2013 –The West Coast Late Model Shootout is preparing for their final two races of the season at Cocopah Speedway on November 22nd and 23rd. The weekend’s events will be co-sanctioned with the Championship Dirt Motorsports series and pay $1,200 to win and $200 to start on Friday and $2,000 to win and $400 to start on Saturday.

Steve Drake leads the West Coast Late Model Shootout points’ rankings with a four point advantage over Tony Toste. Drake has three series' wins this year, sweeping the last two races at Canyon Speedway Park. Toste broke through with his first career series victory during the Simkins Memorial at Santa Maria Speedway. Nick Bartels, two-time and defending series champion Clay Daly and Jason Papich complete the top five.

Tucson, Arizona’s RC Whitwell is the defending race winner and currently sits a top of the Championship Dirt Motorsports points’ standings. Since the series’ last visit, there has been numerous upgrades to the facility including new clay that was recently added creating a smooth surface. In the pits, “The Garage at Cocopah Speedway,” has been revamped selling food, beverages, ice, apparel, fuel and other items. In the stands, four VIP suites have been added along with a new souvenir stand, bigger concession stand, two new beer satellites and a photo backdrop.

CONCORD, N.C. | Nov. 9, 2013 – Daryn Pittman did what he needed to do on Saturday night at the World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte to edge Donny Schatz for the 2013 World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship as Paul McMahan drove to victory for the fourth time this season.
