Watt Claims First Pro Dirt Late Model Victory at Kalgoorlie!

Kalgoorlie, Western Australia | Nov. 13, 2013 - Lee Watt claimed the biggest win of his career last Saturday night at Kalgoorlie Speedway, racing away to claim the feature event in round four of the Hoosier Tires Late Model Pro Dirt Series.

Watt was the one to watch all night, recording very quick times in his heats where he claimed a third and a second, before starting from position two in the feature and driving away from his closest rivals Craig Vosbergen in second and Warren Oldfield in third.

The night started with fifteen Late Models journeying up the highway to the Goldfields track, with Simon McNab and Ben Ludlow late withdrawals from the official nomination list.

Heat one saw Brad Boley leading Michael Holmes the entire distance except when it mattered as Holmes passed and took the lead in the dying stages, defeating Boley by just 0.21 seconds, with Nat Muir further back in third. The second heat saw Warren Oldfield defeat his brother Jason while lee Watt claimed third.

Round two of the heats saw Matt Goodlad improve on his earlier results to claim the win ahead of Jason Moyle and Bryn Haythornthwaite while the final race saw Craig Vosbergen grab the win from Watt and Warren Oldfield.

The A Dash saw Craig Vosbergen claim the win over a fast finishing Lee Watt, setting up the front row for the feature while the B Dash saw Koran Atkinson claim a good win over Jason Moyle and Jay Cardy.

Although the feature event presented difficult conditions for the Late Model brigade, with a dusty and slick track, Lee Watt continued to just race away from the rest of the field and never looked like losing as he went on to claim a popular victory over Craig Vosbergen and Warren Oldfield.

The Late Models now have a fortnights break before their next outing at the Perth Motorplex on the 23rd of November for the King of Kwinana event.

A Main RESULTS:
1. Lee Watt, 2. Craig Vosbergen, 3. Warren Oldfield, 4. Nat Muir, 5. Michael Holmes, 6. Matt Goodlad, 7. Jason Oldfield, 8. Jason Moyle, 9. Koran Atkinson, 10. Jay Cardy, 11. Brad Boley, 12. Phil Zuidema. DNF: Craig Greentree, Bryn Haythornthwaite.
