NeSMITH CHEVROLET OLD MAN’S GARAGE WRS TRACKS SHARE IN $25,000 POINT FUND


CARTERSVILLE, GA | Dec. 2, 2013 - The 15 weekly dirt tracks that participated in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Series will share in the $25,000 
point fund to be distributed to the top drivers in each track’s NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division.

The $25,000 point fund divided by the 15 tracks is separate from the $20,000 point fund that will be paid out to the Top 10 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series National point standings. That’s a total of $45,000 in cash point funds paid out to NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series dirt late model drivers in 2013.


Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series National Champion, and will pocket $10,000 and receive a new Trak-Star Chassis from Boland Performance of Cuba, AL at the NeSmith Racing Annual Awards Banquet on January 18 at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, GA. 

In addition to the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series National Championship, Daspit was also the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA driving the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star.

Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS was the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series National Championship Runner-Up, as well as the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS driving the MP Trucking Trak-Star.

Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL is another point fund double dipper, as he drove the Zaxby’s Rocket to a fourth-place finish in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series National point standings. Dudley is also the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS is the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS driving the Villa South Trak-Star. Scarbrough also finished eighth in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Weekly Racing Series National point standings.

Robby Moore of Brosley, MO drove the Outlaw Race Cars Trak-Star to the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Championship at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO. Moore placed in the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series National point standings for the second straight year with a ninth-place effort.

Gavin Landers of Batesville, AR is the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR driving the Mark Martin Automotive Rocket. Buster Deen of Crosby, TX is the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX driving the Freedom Air Motorsports Special.

The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL is Bryan Bernhardt of Clearwater, FL in the Terry Eaglin Motorsports Rocket. Ricky Waggoner of Martin, TN drove the Taylormade Performance Special to the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Championship at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN.

Cliff Ross of Florence, MS is the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Pearl Tire & Auto Trak-Star. Even Ellis of Plantersville, MS drove the Ellis Welding Special to the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Championship at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

Taylor Mitcham of LaFayette, AL is the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL driving the Mitcham Auto Parts Trak-Star. James Gilmore of Milton, FL is the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the Milton Forklift Service GRT.

Brian Ponder of Talladega, AL drove the BP Racing Special to the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Championship at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Randy Boyd of Marion, MS is the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Late Model Champion at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Coca-Cola of Meridian Trak-Star.

A total of 376 different drivers took part in the 185 different NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series sanctioned events in eight different states over the 27-week 2013 season that ran from March 25 through September 29.
