Loudoun Launches Sydney Sprint Season with Rnd. 1 Victory

Sydney, AU | Oct. 22, 2011 - Ian Loudoun claimed a powerful win in the opening round of the Sprintcar Track Championship at Tyrepower Sydney Speedway tonight. Second home was Mitchell Dumesny and third to the line was Robbie Farr who, due to being excluded in his first heat for noise just qualified for the A-Main starting nineteenth....

Loudoun took the lead from early race tear-away, Daniel Goldoni on lap 6 never looked back. Not even a stoppage on lap 9 could halt Loudoun from putting on a clinic.

The only incident during the 30 lap final was Taylor Johnson hitting a stranded Darryl Campbell in turn 3 and rolling gently onto her side. She was un-hurt. From that point onwards, Farr started his spectacular move forward from deep in the pack.

After some anxious moments in lapped traffic, Farr moved into third place with 10 laps remaining and set out after Mitchell Dumesny but couldn’t make any inroads. In the end, it was all Ian Loudoun however and after what could be described as a flat 2010/2011, it certainly looks to be on the rise, even at this early stage.

The Wingless Sprints A-Main was marred by a huge crash with Jason Bates. He was ok after the monumental crash in turn two. The eventual winner of the main event was Daniel Flood from Adam Wray and Michael Sammut.

The Litre Sprints were down on numbers but still supplied exciting racing. Jay Hall took the win from DJ Raw and Mitch Isaacs.   FULL RESULTS

It was also announced tonight that the entry prices for future meetings will be slashed up until and including December 10. Adults will now be only $20.00, Pensioners $18.00 and Students $15.00. The cost of a Family Pass is now just $50.00 which includes 2 Adults and two Students. Kids 12 and under still remain free-of-charge.
