2014 Schedules for Spring Nationals, Southern Nationals, and Bonus Races Released!


Bonus Races Join for 10 Extra Events on 2014 Slate

BRASSTOWN, NC (December 13, 2013) - Officials of the Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals Series presented by Schaeffer's Oil and the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series presented by Old Man's Garage are pleased to introduce the race schedules for the 2014 season. In addition to two-points paying mini-tours, the Southern Nationals Bonus Races will feature ten non-points events from March-November of 2014.



The Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals Series presented by Schaeffer Oil will feature 10 races from March through May. The series opens up on Friday/SaturdayMarch 14/14 at the Volunteer Speedway for the 13th Annual Spring Thaw weekend at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN, paying $4,000 to win on Friday Night and the $10,000 finale on Saturday Night. The series will then feature another double-header on Friday/Saturday March 28/29 at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC paying $4,000 that Friday Night then on Saturday Night paying $6,000 to win at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN. This first triple-header will be onApril 17-19 as the series visits 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY on Thursday April 17th for a $4,000 to win race, then Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday April 18 for a $4,000 to win event then the series will visit the historic King Family owned Florence Speedway in Union, KY on Saturday Night April 19 for a $5,000 to win event. The series will wrap up the 2014 mini-tour with visits to Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN on Thursday May 8th paying $4,000 to win, Friday May 9 at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, GA paying $4,000 to win and SaturdayNight May 10 at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA paying $6,000 to win.

The 10th Anniversary of the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Series presented by Old Man's Garage will officially open on Monday July 21 at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, VA then roll down Interstate 81 to Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN on Tuesday Night July 22, with both events paying $3,500 to win. On Thursday July 24 the series opens the first on a four race weekend with visits to East Alabama Motor Speedway for $3,500 to win, then Friday July 25 at Swainsboro (GA) Raceway ($5,300 to win) then Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA on Saturday July 26 for the annual Rebel Yell event ($5,300 to win) then Sunday NightJuly 27 at Rome (GA) Speedway paying $5,300 to win. The schedule will show TBA for Tuesday Night July 29 then the series heads to Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN on Thursday Night July 31 paying $3,500 to win, then Friday NightAugust 1 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN paying $5,300 to win thenSaturday Night August 2 at Tazewell Speedway for $5,300 to win. The 10 races, for over $190,000 in feature prize money, is ran across a short 13-day period.

For the first time, the Southern Nationals will present Bonus Races. The non-points Bonus Races will have 10/12 dates for 2014 from March until November and will have Chris Tilley as Race Director for these races. On March 1 and 2 the Bonus Races will sanction the 12th Annual March Madness races at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC paying $3,000 on Saturday and $10,000 to win on Sunday. The next double header weekend will be on Sunday May 25 at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN for $5,000 to win then Monday May 26 at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, NC for the Annual Memorial Day Championship paying $3,000 to win. A visit to Tazewell (TN) Speedway on Saturday July 5 will pay $5,000 to win for the Fourth of July Weekend special. On Saturday Night August 16th the CT Promotions 10th Annual Iron-Man Classic presented by Ole Smoky will be hosted by Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN and will pay $5,010 to win. The 11th Annual Tarheel 50 at Tri-County (NC) Race Track will be on Friday NightOctober 3 and will pay $4,053 to win. The event is usually held in conjunction with the Lucas-sanctioned races at Dixie & Rome Speedways the next two nights. The finale Bonus race will be on Friday/Saturday November 14/15 at the Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN and will pay $11,000 to the winner of the Third Annual Deep Fried 75.
