What is BriSCA Formula One Stock Car Racing?
BriSCA Formula One Stock Cars are purpose built, open wheeled, unlimited engine capacity, single seater racing cars. Designed and constructed to a strict specifications for full contact racing, they have evolved over a period of fifty years from a pre 1954 standard road car to today's remarkable combination of sophistication and brute force.
Born out of a requirement to circulate a 400 metre oval in the fastest possible time with thirty other cars of similar characteristics, these racers have the mandate to use their 3,300lb machines to forceably remove slower cars from the racing line whilst attempting to finish first. It's not just speed, aggression or strategy, but a combination of all three that determines the real winners and projects the top drivers towards superstar status.
If that was not difficult enough, to add to the challenge for man and machine, the competitors are graded. The fastest drivers, based upon careful analysis of previous performances, start at the back of the grid with the slower cars at the front, a unique format which stimulates the competitive instinct in all drivers irrespective of their starting position.
With roof colours designating capability, grids are made up of representatives from each grade. White, Yellow, Blue and Red roofs are the sequence from the front to the back of the grid with the top five in the country (the Superstars) starting at the back! CLICK HERE for current Points & Gradings
What is the history of BriSCA Formula One ?
The origins of BriSCA Formula One Stock Car Racing can be traced to the birth of oval track racing in the UK and the first ever stock car race at the New Cross Stadium, London on Good Friday 1954.
Since then, the sport has operated continuously at stadiums and race circuits throughout the UK and over 5000 meetings have been staged at ninety four venues. They have stretched the length and breadth of the United Kingdom from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Cowdenbeath in the north to Carlyon Bay, Ringwood and Canterbury in the south.
The World Championship is the most coveted of all championships - not only because of the massive prize fund up for grabs, but the desirable gold roof and a place in the record books is awarded to the victor. Points scored from fifteen designated qualifying meetings are totalled to produce two semi-final grids. Unlike normal races, the drivers with the highest number of points grid at the front in the World Semi Finals. The first ten finishers from each semi final qualify for the World Final in semi-final race position order. Also seeded into the grid for the World Final are ten overseas drivers, generally from countries such as Holland, Belgium, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Canada and USA.

What is BriSCA F2
Smaller and lighter cars and motors differentiate the F2 from F1 divisions. An F2 car must weigh between 1,400lbs and 1,540lbs and all cars run the Ford 2L single overhead cam engines. With over 600 Drivers, more than 25 Tracks, and in excess of 200 meetings per season from the North of Scotland to the South West of England, and across Mainland Europe and Northern Ireland, BriSCA F2 is the largest Single seater motor sport in Europe.
Similar to the F1 division, drivers push, shove and hit one another out of the way, in pursuit of glory with 25 to 40 cars on small 1/4 mile tarmac or shale tracks.
