SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DIRT CHAMPIONSHIP THIS WEEKEND AT TYGERBERG RACEWAY!!
Kraaifontein, SA | Nov. 29, 2013 - Tygerberg Raceway will be hosting the DO4SA National Event on Nov. 30th, where-after the South African Champion will be crowned. Ratified by MSA, SASCOC and the Dept Sport & Recreatio, this will be the ONLY recognized SA Championship in the country for Dirt Oval Track Racing in 2013. Any other competitor claiming to be the South African Champion (or SA1) will, therefore, be a fraud (like a false license plate on a road-car which is not registered on the E-Natis system). To be a South African Champion (SA1), your result needs to be registered with the relevant authorities, which will be the case following this prestigious DO4SA event.
Last weekend in the Late Model division, “SIR“ Chris Liebenberg showed everyone why he deserves that national title as he once again was in devastating form and nobody could get remotely close to him. Only Otto Graven and Thys Valentyn managed to hang in there.

Swindell Recaps 2013 Big Game Motorsports Campaign
by Inside Line Promotions | John Fletcher photo
GERMANTOWN, TN | Nov. 19, 2013 – As much as baseball is about inches, racing is about tenths of a second.
Big Game Motorsports driver Sammy Swindell can attest to that as he was hampered by less than one second in multiple races spanning the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series schedule across the country.
“I think all you have to do is look at our starting positions and our qualifying positions,” he said. “We weren’t really off on the qualifying that much. It always seemed to put us on the sixth or seventh row (in the feature). It seemed like most of our year we were coming from the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh row. We qualified third through eighth a lot and it just puts you in the wrong spot. It’s just been harder to pass this year.”

Nov. 18, 2013 - In his brief career, Ryan Bernal has made quite the name for himself by winning tons of races and capturing series championships. After departing from the Josh Ford Motorsports team late this past season, Bernal is excited for his opportunity to drive for Mike Phelps in many non-wing events in 2014, but the Hollister, CA driver is looking to also compete in a winged car as well.
“I’m very excited to be in Mike Phelps’ machine next year,” Bernal said. “I had a chance to work with him and his team at the end of the year, and though we had some bad luck, they’re a great group, and I’m looking forward to the chance.”

Peoria, AZ | Nov. 17, 2013 - Two-time National Midget champion Bryan Clauson pulled out the latest in his bag of tricks for a last-corner, last-lap win in the 46th “Western World Championships” at Canyon Speedway Park on Saturday. The Noblesville, Indiana driver made it his 22nd overall USAC win on the year and fifth Honda National score.
Friday night winner Darren Hagen beat Clauson off the front row as three cautions before two laps had been completed slowed the action. The battle at the front escalated quickly as Chris Bell, who clinched the Honda National Dirt Midget Championship upon starting, got the top working early to take the lead as he and Hagen completed lap five.
