Lucas Oil ASCS Season Finale Kicks off with Fanfest Thursday

SOMERTON, AZ | Nov. 5, 2013 - The 2013 season for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real will be decided this Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9 at the Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz. but before the green flag drops on the final two nights of national competition, fans will get the chance to meet the drivers and view the machines that will sling mud at the three-eighths mile Arizona oval.

Slated for Thursday, November 7 at the Cocopah Resort and Casino, located directly across the street from the Cocopah Speedway, the Fanfest will begin at 4:00 P.M. (MT) in the front lawn of the Cocopah Resort and Casino.

Much like the spring event, a press conference will be held for local fans and media to deliver questions to series drivers and officials.

POWRi Midget Rookie of Year Parker Price-Miller enters 4th Battle at the Center at Du Quoin

DU QUOIN, Ill. | Nov. 5, 2013 - Parker Price-Miller enjoyed an outstanding season in becoming Rookie of the Year in the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series, finishing sixth in the championship. The 15-year-old from Kokomo, Ind., drove in the final 23 features, 26 of 29 overall, and had 12 top-10s led by a pair of fourths.

Price-Miller would like to conclude the year in POWRi Midgets by improving on his top result when he competes in the fourth annual Great Clips Battle at the Center presented by K & N Filters on Dec. 7, a non-points all-star style event, at the Southern Illinois Center’s one-sixth Mini Magic Mile.

“I’m still looking for my first POWRi win and any tracks we go to, we have a chance to win,” Price-Miller said. “The first goal is to make the feature and I’ve gotten enough experience that we should be able to run in the top five, top 10.”

Price-Miller started slowly, making three of the six features to open the season, and a seventh at Macon (Ill.) Speedway on June 8 began his remarkable run of consistency that took him to Rookie of the Year. His longest top-10 streak was five and he had fourths at Valley Speedway at Grain Valley, Mo., on July 27 and Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., on Aug. 31.

Hafertepe Jr. Seeking Fourth Straight Year With Top 10 at World Finals

SUNNYVALE, TX | Nov. 4, 2013 – Sam Hafertepe Jr. is gearing up for the final event of his season with a mission targeting consistency.

Hafertepe Jr. is tackling the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series 7th annual World Finals this Thursday through Saturday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C.

“Our expectation when you go to that race is make both events,” he said. “The goal is to be consistent for both nights of qualifying and put yourself in a good position. That’s the main goal right away. And then we want to go in there with a good mindset and execute on our game plan.”

Hagar Garners First Career USCS Outlaw Thunder National Championship

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. | Nov. 4, 2013 – Derek Hagar is a national championship winning driver.

Hagar secured his first career national title and his second championship of the year last weekend with a pair of top 10s during USCS action at Riverside International Speedway.

“I’m pretty excited about that,” he said. “It would have been cool to win all three of them, but the national is what everybody looks at. It made the year exciting and nerve-racking. I’m glad it’s over, but then again I hate that it is over.”
