WESTERN AUSTRALIAN SPRINT TITLE ON THE LINE THIS WEEKEND
Story by Ken Brown | Peter Roebuck photo
Perth, Western Australia | Dec. 3, 2013 - The 52nd running of the Western Australian Sprintcar Championship at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday evening should be a exciting and hard fought affair.
A strong 28 field will contest the title tilt, including four interstate drivers.
Brooke Tatnell lines up in the #2 Krikke Motorsport Cool car after his second place finish at Bunbury last weekend.
Luke Dillon (PICTURED) has taken out the last three AHG Sprintcar Series rounds in the west and must be favoured to finish on the podium once again.
Ian Loudoun will pilot the #65 Peet Motorsport entry while Matt Young will be driving the #22 Minchin Motorsport car.
Former Queensland Champion Cameron Gessner had the Bunbury event shot to pieces until a throttle linkage problem sidelined the #41 Cowara Motorsport Maxim.
In the field will be former WA titleholders Mark Wells, Jamie Maiolo, Jason Kendrick and David Priolo.
Others to watch include Shaun Bradford, Carl Dowling, Kye Scroop, Callum Williamson and Lee Nash.
The event will also be round #6 of the AHG Sprintcar Series.
Drivers are not allowed to play their "Joker" card this weekend but double points will be awarded on the night.
It all adds up to a not to be missed encounter.
