Noblesville, IN | Dec. 3, 2013 - Fresh off one of the most successful years in USAC history Bryan Clauson and Bryan Clauson Racing are proud to announce the upstart of the Driven Driver Development Program.
“It has always been a goal of mine to build our program to the point that we could take our knowledge and help develop the next generation of racecar drivers. We have spent the past several years building our program and database up to a point that we feel we can offer young drivers the opportunity to learn and excel in an environment that gets the most out of their driving ability.
We are driven to provide the equipment, knowledge, and experience to accelerate the learning curve of a young driver, “ commented the 4-Time USAC Champion.
The program will be lead by USAC Championship winning Crew Chief “Big Al,” Al Scroggins, and will compete in POWRI & USAC, sanctioned races throughout the 2014 Season.
To kick off Bryan Clauson Racing’s Driven Driver Development Program we are proud to announce that young guns Spencer Bayston and Payton Pierce will be competing at POWRI’s “Battle at The Center” in DuQuoin, Illinois on December 7th.
Bayston, coming off a dominating year in the Mel Kenyon Midget Championship, and Pierce, who in his rookie season picked up feature wins in sprint car competition in Texas, are the type of drivers this program was built for to help climb the ranks of professional motorsports.
Spencer Bayston- “ I am really excited to climb behind the wheel of the 39 car for this event. To get the opportunity to run a car of this caliber at an event where they have had a lot of success is just an awesome opportunity for me as a driver. Any new track is a challenge, but Duquoin is a very tight and tricky layout that will test me especially against such a great field. I will lean heavily on Bryan and his experience to help me get up to speed as fast as possible. Having a guy like him to help guide me especially at these places I’m seeing for the first time is a huge benefit and worth more than I can imagine. ”
Payton Pierce- “I’m honored and blessed to have the opportunity to drive a top-notch car at this great event. Du Quoin is a place like many indoor bullrings, where being smooth and staying out of trouble is half the battle. I’m really excited to be surrounded by so much experience. As a young driver trying to develop, having a guy like Bryan to lean on only quickens my learning curve to becoming a better driver. Hopefully we can go out and have a solid run to build on into the future.”
Bryan Clauson ~ “It was really hard to step away from the program we built from the ground up and have had so much success with, but I’m really excited about my new opportunities not only as a driver but now as a car owner. Having the opportunity to apply the knowledge we’ve built up over the years and apply it to help two great young talents like Spencer and Payton is something I’m really looking forward to. I was fortunate to have a lot of great mentors as a young guy trying to make his name in this sport, and I hope I can be the same to both of our young drivers. All of us are chomping at the bit to get to Duquoin and get started!”
