SITKA, KY | Oct. 27, 2013 - Last night was a hard night for many of the drivers that competed at 201 Speedway. Dirt Dog and 201 Speedway would like to send out prayers to Josh McGuire, Chase Hunley, and Gary Neal Pennington who all suffered injuries in separate accidents.
Kentucky Late Model racer Josh McGuire biked going into turn one and flipped several times. He was taken to the local hospital for neck injuries but should make a full recovery.
The latest report from Tracy Muncy McGuire two hours ago:
"The neurosurgeon just came in--he again expressed how lucky he was but has said he wants to try to take a neck brace approach for 3 months and monitor its healing. He was optimistic that no surgery would be needed as long as he properly wears the neck brace 24/7. All Glory to God and thank you to all the medical staff involved everyone has been so wonderful and compassionate. Again we are so humbled by the prayers and those checking in--forever grateful. Hopefully he will get to go home tonight or tomorrow."
Gary Neal Pennington, also rolled his 48 Bomber in the feature event, and has suffered a broken arm, he was able to walk away from the accident.
Chase Hunley driver of the #3 4-Cylinder Stock suffered a broke foot
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all these drivers, family, and fans.
