North Lismore, NSW AU | Nov. 3, 2011 - Five of the newest model, factory-built American Troyer cars have been entered for the V8 Dirt Modified Lord Mayor's Cup at Lismore Speedway tomorrow night. Drivers with Troyers include favorites Andrew Pezzutti, Kevin Britten, two-time Lord Mayor's Cup winner Mark Robinson, Jai Stephenson and Phil McNamara...
Robinson will drive his new car straight out of the box and untried in race competition, however Robinson is quietly confident of success.
“The Troyer factory owner has been to Australia to check out our track conditions and has built a car to suit our circuits. This first race meeting will be a bit of a test night for us, really,” Robinson said.
“If we get through the two heats then we’ll have a fair old crack at the feature. It just depends early how the car runs, however I am confident of a top-five result. I think it should be all good.”
The event will be contested in the presence of Lismore City Council Mayor Jenny Dowell who will officially open the season.

Teo and Bicknell, other American brands, are also represented in the Lord Mayor's Modified field.
Some drivers who race regularly at Lismore Speedway spend the Australian off-season in the United States checking out the latest developments in V8 Dirt Modified racecar technology.
Promoter David Lander said yesterday that the standard of race equipment now on show in the V8 Dirt Modified ranks had improved out of sight over the past decade.
"Almost all of the teams have the very latest equipment and with each season most drivers update to the latest chassis designs and running gear available," he said.
Queensland driver Britten will return for Lismore Speedway's first meeting of the season after a strong 2010-11 at the venue.
AMCA Nationals sedans, wingless sprints, street stocks, four-cylinder sedans and junior sedans are also on the program tomorrow night.
“It should be one of our biggest seasons. The state titles will be decided for the V8 Dirt Modified, Formula 500 and Late Model racing categories.", said Lander.
Lander has lined up 16 nights of racing during the upcoming 2011/12 season, highlighted with the running of three NSW titles and has lowered admission prices for this season. He also continues his highly successful policy of admitting all children aged under 12 accompanied by an adult free of charge.
Gates open at 3PM, first race at 6.
