Kingaroy, QLD AU | Oct. 29, 2011 - Toowoomba's Shane MacDonald has raced home to win the opening round of the Modified Production "Quantum Racing Industries" South West Allstars Series in front of over 1500 people on Saturday night at the all new Kingaroy Speedway...

From the moment the Modified Production's hit the track in the opening heat, the racing was truly remarkable with amazing battles right throughout the night and plenty of two and three wide racing on the wide open spaces of the new Kingaroy layout that kept the crowd on their feet, cheering for more.
Although rain during the early part of the week caused a few bumps in the track, the Modified Production's used the "hooked up" surface to its potential and the show that they put on in the feature was amazing with a nail biting battle for the lead with Robert Trapp and MacDonald, then MacDonald and Budgen and who can forget the likes of Todd Doyle, Rodney Pammenter, Greg Worling and David Jacobi all running around the fence.
After 30 gruelling laps, Shane MacDonald held on to win in Club President Ashley Barron's EL Ford Falcon just ahead of Shane Langton and David Jacobi. Heat winners during the night were Shane MacDonald (2), Shane Langton (2), Robert Trapp (2), Darren Pearson, Aidan Raymont, Peter Gray, Greg Worling, Luke Hollyman, Bevan Collins, Todd Doyle, Stephen Geritz and Gavin Fletcher
In the other big events for the weekend, Hervey Bay's Frank Packer held off a fast finishing Mostert Woodrow to win the Australian Sedan Grand Prix just ahead of former Street Sedan Queensland Champion Jim Cowley and the current Victorian Proddy Champion Darren Pumpa. The class rationalisation concept was well received and the South Burnett Speedway are looking at doing it again in the future.
The Wingless Sprint feature was taken by Maryborough duo Dan Moes and then Scott Thomsen who both dominated procedings during the first time out for the Wingless cars at the Kingaroy Speedway.
On Friday Night, close to 1000 people turned out in terrible conditions for Family Night to see an awesome Fireworks show and Round 2 of the Speedcar Super Series. After many attempts to get racing underway and after a lot of track preparation due to the rain earlier in the week and then again on Friday afternoon, the Speedcars hit the track for Family Night and Sydney's Matt Smith took home the big winners cheque ahead of fellow Sydney Superstar Mark Brown and Queenslander Jeremy Hassell.
Overall the club was extremely happy with the support from all the drivers, crews, officials and spectators at the first hitout of the season and would like to thank all the drivers for putting on a sensational show on an extremely tough racing surface. From the feedback from many drivers and many spectators, everyone is looking forward to getting back to the Kingaroy Speedway as the wide open and super fast clay way is now going to be one of the "must see" venues in the Sunshine State.
The next event at the Kingaroy Speedway will feature V8 Dirt Modifieds, Late Models, Lightning Sprints and the Keith Harm Memorial for Street Sedans on Saturday 26th November.
