Chico, CA | Oct. 23, 2011 - Dennis Gage, the new promoter at one of the best known tracks in the Western US, is doing exactly what he should in a tough economy... putting money into improving the safety, quality of racing and fan experience at his facility. Over the years, I have personally witnessed numerous fans, cars and racers being injured and damage by rocks from the track. So I will be among the first to say "It's about damn time!" and loudly applaud the efforts currently underway to improve conditions at Silver Dollar Speedway. Track prep includes rock removal, black clay reclaimation and a complete make over of the surface before the winter rainy season. Here's looking forward to a safer and even more exciting season in 2012!
